Directs and provides leadership in the IFRS/GAAP and STAT reporting of highly visible universal life products. Oversees a small team within actuarial modeling, and valuation.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team to perform IFRS/GAAP and Statutory reporting for universal life products.
  • Clearly articulate earnings and capital results or various other similar items to senior management.
  • Manages assumption and modeling updates, cash flow testing, mid-term planning, sensitivities, stress testing, and year end reporting  for UL product Supports inforce management actions, reinsurance management, capital management and ALM actions.
  • Promotes culture of continuous improvement in order to deliver better reporting efficiency and support new accounting and regulation requirements such as IFRS 17 and PBR.
  • Work with Modernization on conversion for items.
  • Monitors and analyzes developments in actuarial techniques, laws and regulations applicable to company operations, and competitive developments in the marketplace.
  • May represent the company on industry and professional committees and/or with regulators.
  • May supervise a small team of employees.

Qualifications

  • FSA or equivalent professional designation along with Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field and 6 years of relevant experience.  In lieu of Bachelor's, will accept Master's in a listed discipline and 4 years of relevant experience.  In lieu of FSA will accept ASA or equivalent professional designation and 10 years of relevant experience.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment.  Limited travel may be required.
