The job in a nutshell

As a Junior Portfolio Manager, you will combine strong analytical skills with an interest in financial markets to contribute to the success of the Multi-Asset Group. The role will be varied and provide the opportunity to gain exposure to the full range of activities within the team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the team in efficiently managing and monitoring several large funds. This will involve developing and improving investment models and managing the portfolios on a daily basis.
  • Performing (empirical) research on a broad range of topics, including economics, financial markets, asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management and implementation under the supervision of your manager.
  • Supporting the team in managing the commodity funds, which tries to add value by using a systematic investment approach.
  • Building strong relationships with global sales and marketing teams to aid in the distribution and promotion of our multi-asset strategies, including input on RFP questionnaires, developing, and maintaining marketing and answering client questions.
  • Contributing to team discussions on market views, trade ideas and portfolio.
  • Developing and enhancing relationships with other departments and maintaining a direct line of communication with investment banks and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting the Front Office in administrative and reporting requirements.

Who will be your new colleagues?

The Multi Asset team manages a wide range of investment strategies. Actively investing in global financial markets across asset classes, including equities, bonds, FX and commodities.

The Multi Asset Group is located in The Netherlands, the UK and the US. As the team is split across various regions the role has an international character and you will have the opportunity to interact with various internal and external stakeholders. This position will be based in The Hague.

Moreover, you have the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • 0-3 years of working experience.
  • Demonstrable interest in financial markets.
  • Understanding of asset management and financial instruments.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, experience with programming in VBA/Python is a plus.
  • Are fluent in English (both written and oral).
  • CFA charterholder/willing to participate in this program.

  • You will be earning between €3224 and €5373 gross based on 40 hours per week
