The head of Organizational Effectiveness  serves as a key business partner to the various management boards and works to influence effective people practices across functions. The head of Organizational Effectiveness advocates for Aegon’s culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help them build and manage their organizations. You will be responsible for solving complex organizational challenges through people-related solutions. This role has broad impact by leading and delivering key HR processes and programs including people strategic workforce planning; organizational blue-print and operating models; employment cost analysis and optimization; and organizational key metrics.

Furthermore responsibilities will also include:

  • Provides HR consulting in the areas of organizational effectiveness and design, workforce planning/, change management.
  • Drives development and alignment of people strategies, tactics, programs, and practices to enable business strategies, priorities and/or minimize risks.
  • Provides expertise and advice for client partners to enable sustainable organization performance and culture alignment with business strategy.
  • Serves as an organization change agent  and applies change management approaches to enhance effective stakeholder engagement, implementation of organization initiatives.

As head of Organizational Effectiveness  you will report to the CHRO of Aegon NV and will be part of the HR Leadership Team. You are able to work effectively with colleagues across all functions both at the Aegon Group Holding and within the international subsidiaries.

Requirements

You have exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity: you are a creative visionary who can manage strategic innovation. You have organizational sensitivity, an ability to persuade and influence colleagues across all seniority levels, and you show a high degree of personal accountability. You are able to structure, analyse and solve complex problems and present them coherently to senior management audiences based on solid data baselines. In addition you can also roll up your sleeves and execute. You have an outstanding track record within Organizational Effectiveness.

Moreover, you have the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, organization development, human resources management, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience as; a organisational effectiveness lead or strategic HR business partnering  or Consultant to Manager, Director or VP level clients – or – a minimum of 7 years of experience within one of the major management consultancy organisations (e.g. Mckinsey; BCG etc.).
  • Prior success working in the context of a large, complex, matrixed organizations. Demonstrated history of successful partnerships and leadership within a matrixed delivery system.
  • Experience moving organizations from legacy HR practices to a more influential and impactful model. Experience in high-performance HR practices.
  • Ability to understand how business operates and translate business needs into differentiated people solutions for the business; craft people solutions, approaches and plans to meet business needs and translate culture strategy into management practices. Experience in more than an Industry will be a plus
  • Demonstrated success building trusted partnerships with senior business leaders influencing them to achieve strategic initiatives. Comfortable with negotiation, conflict resolution, and delivering an opposing point of view to initiate discussion.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Good listener with empathy and understanding of others; collaborative and team oriented.
  • Dynamic consultant and teammate that can motivate a sense of urgency in others. High degree of political savvy. Possesses the highest level of integrity and ethics; builds/inspires trust and is accountable.
  • Energy, commitment and ability to maintain a sense of humor and perspective under pressure and changing priorities. Able to balance a varied workload.
  • Self-starter; personally motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, global, virtual work environment.
  • Highly organized, thorough and detail-oriented.
