As a Corporate Strategy Manager you are part of Aegon’s integrated strategy and sustainability function, supporting Aegon’s Management Board in developing and implementing the global strategy, projects, and other programs.

You contribute to the formulation and implementation of Aegon’s strategy, and help integrating sustainability into Aegon’s corporate strategy. You help define our global ambition and goals to create long term value for all our stakeholders.
You manage Aegon’s corporate strategy processes, initiate and drive group-wide projects, bring external perspectives and support businesses with specific strategy and business development expertise. You analyze, challenge and advise on complex strategic issues, continuously looking for external and internal developments and new insights. You prepare strategy meetings, workshops and strategy presentations for several strategy platforms. You lead or participate in group wide strategy (implementation) projects, and providing support to business units in their strategy development.
You report to the head of the Corporate Strategy & Sustainability team, and the team works closely with colleagues in the wider Strategy & Sustainability department at Aegon’s global head office (Corporate Center).
About the department
Strategy & Sustainability supports the Aegon Management Board in key decision-making as well as implementation of global initiatives related to Corporate Strategy, Sustainability Strategy and Customer Strategy. In addition, advocacy and global research on retirement and healthy aging is a key activity of the department.
As a Corporate Strategy Manager you are able to work effectively with colleagues from both Corporate Center and Aegon business units around the world. You have organizational sensitivity, an ability to persuade and influence colleagues, and you show a high degree of personal accountability. You are able to structure, analyse and solve complex problems and present it coherently to senior management audiences.
Moreover, you must have the following qualifications:
- Academic working and thinking level; excellent academic track record
- 6 - 8 years of relevant experience in the field of strategy (consulting) / business development
- An international outlook and a willingness to work across disciplines and subject areas
- Self-starter, high energy level, a ‘can-do’ mentality, positive-critical and solution-oriented at the same time
- Extensive affinity with financial services industry is desired
- Fluency in English
